Far Cry 5 is one of the bestselling games of 2018 so far and Ubisoft continues to roll out impressive support for the open-world shooter, including additional expansions and title updates. The next major patch for Far Cry 5 is due to drop later today, adding in an array of new features including a lobby browser for Multiplayer Arcade, a new Photo Mode, and polishing up a few potential causes of game crashes.
Far Cry isn’t a series that’s afraid of jarring thematic changes, but heading from rural 21st-century Montana to the jungles of war-torn Vietnam is a stretch, even by this series’ lofty standards.
Somehow Ubisoft managed to almost sneak this out without me noticing, but the first PC patch for Far Cry 5 has arrived. While Far Cry 5 ran brilliantly in our benchmark tests, I know a few folks have struggled a little with uneven performance. Far Cry 5 Title Update 4 should help tackle PC performance, including crashes, general stability issues, and a few minor problems with the online co-op. It's not clear how we've got to Update 4 already, but rest assured this is the first patch released for Far Cry 5 since its launch.
Nothing stops the Ubisoft hit factory, it seems. Far Cry 5 has been breaking records in the week since its launch, becoming the fastest selling Far Cry game of all time. With Ubisoft’s overall pantheon, Far Cry 5 has had the second biggest launch ever, behind Tom Clancy’s The Division in 2016. Interestingly, the total split across all platforms was more than 50% in favour of digital, which is very unusual for AAA retail game.
We're in gaming drought territory, ladies and gents. But what better way to haul yourself out of this than with a brand spanking new game. Far Cry 5 launched earlier this week to rave reviews, and we've got a copy to give away to a GD'er. The winner will be able to pick from PC copies of Far Cry 5, Total War: Thrones of Britannia or State of Decay 2.
Ubisoft can’t let a good gag go a-wastin’, so we probably shouldn't be surprised that the hidden ending trick from Far Cry 4 returns in Far Cry 5, nor that it's activated in pretty much the exact same way.

April's looking worryingly quiet for games but at least we've got an absolute monster like Far Cry 5 to see us through. Ubisoft's shooter is set in a massive, open-world Montana that's absolutely dripping with atmosphere. Squeezing out performance is going to be key, particularly for those aiming for the elusive 60 frames per second.

Yeehaw, Far Cry 5 is with us. This deliciously twisted tale of religious cults, righteous killing and pet bears is as deliriously off-kilter as we've all come to expect from the Far Cry series. But how does Far Cry 5 run on PC? To start things off we've put to the test with a GeForce GTX 1060 graphics cards.

We’re one day away from the third-most anticipated game of the year launching. Far Cry 5 brings its usual blend off-the-wall chaos to PC and consoles on March 27th, and with Ubisoft that means only one thing - an opportunity for yet another trailer. The singalong Far Cry 5 ‘My Country Tis of Thee’ trailer is about as tongue-in-cheek jingoistic as they come, teasing the explosive (and occasionally sharp-toothed) treats that’ll be coming our way tomorrow.
Ubisoft has today revealed Far Cry 5’s Arcade mode, its batshit crazy form of competitive multiplayer/co-op action/map editing that puts the creative tools in the players' hands.
Okay Ubisoft, your love it trailers is probably getting a little out of hand now. No less than five (FIVE!) trailers for Far Cry 5 dropped over the weekend, showcasing mayhem in the mountains in that typically excess Far Cry style. It’s shaping up to be the perfect game to put on when your brain needs a rest.
